Spring Flowers and Poppies!

I just can't get over how happy poppies make me. They are wacky flowers, unusual in how they open and emerge from their shells, and rare in their paper-thin petals.  And mostly, I think, I like the stems: they have personalities, don't they?
The flowers to the right are beautiful too -- more pictures forthcoming -- but poppies are just so much fun.  I'll also post more pictures of the poppies tonight or tomorrow with all of the blossoms open.  Spectacular colors.

Flowers of the Week in Tribeca

I can't even express how much these flowers make me happy.  And even though the flowers on Tuesday were not good.  I had to go for a special gig; but the pickings were really, really slim.  Nothing had come in from South America.  A few tulips were good.  But honestly, the rest of the flowers -- from all the wholesalers -- were mush.  But we did the best we could.  And, see what to do if your flowers turn on you.  Just throw them in a big vase of water! Amazing, huh?  Smile.

See, if something looks kind of dead, just throw it in a bigger vase

To my friends at United Wholesale Florist, these roses are the most amazing ever.  They continue to unfold in the most beautiful ways.

That Cowboy Boot Vase -- once again.

It was a wacky last minute idea, but I really think it worked.  Especially as a "front door" eye grabber.  It makes me smile.  Flowers in a cowboy boot found on Washington Street in Tribeca.

Featherstone Design Showing and Soiree

More on this fabulous event -- that I feel honored to have designed the floral environment for -- later, but please check out http://www.featherstonedesign.com/.  Deirdre and her team are exquisite designers with eyes for the best gems in the world, catering to a very discerning customer.  I had SO much fun with these flowers.  I will detail all the different flowers a bit later.
Yes, that is a cowboy boot.  I frequently have seen Deirdre wearing them so I used one!

It's kind of got that "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" feeling, especially with the poppies

Valentine's Day Floral Arrangements

Well, I made these for me.  It's too tough of a holiday to attempt to make any money.  Heck, if you can get two dozen roses from ProFlowers for $29.95, then go for it!  Somebody, or many bodies, are losing money on that one. And I choose to not lose money.  Therefore, I made up all these beautiful bouquets.  If anyone would like to buy one, fine.  If not, they're all mine.  And man oh man, the tuberose smells divine!
